Ashesi Fosters Ethics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Africa will be transformed under the leadership of bright young Africans who are educated in Africa, taught to think critically, to question, to solve problems, and above all, to care. I founded Ashesi to be the spark of a revitalized Africa. Ashesi aims to act as a catalyst for new enterprises and new solutions, and to serve as a model for other universities in Africa.

• We instill ethics through a stringent, student-initiated honor code, and required community service projects.
• Our rigorous liberal arts core and small, seminar style classes develop critical thinking skills.
• World-class majors in Business Administration, Computer Science, and MIS prepare students to innovate in their field.
• Real-world, in-depth projects challenge students to create innovative, practical solutions to Africa’s needs.

Our Graduates Work for Progress in Africa.

100% of Ashesi graduates find quality placement within months of graduating. Even in this economic slowdown, Africa has an urgent need for their skills. Over 95% of Ashesi graduates stay in Africa, helping grow the local economy. Students start their own businesses, or bring their ethical, problem-solving skills to jobs in banking and finance, software development, IT, general management and other fields in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Ashesi graduates reach out to others.

One graduate is operations manager of an orphanage where she has revamped the curriculum, teaching children to use technology and to have big dreams for their futures. Another alumnus is country manager of a non-profit that provides technical knowledge and expertise in disadvantaged communities. Yet another graduate is helping build a microfinance infrastructure across his native Sudan. Nearly all Ashesi graduates donate back to their school. Read graduate profiles.
